Summer Art Camp – Printmaking!

The Allegany Arts Council will once again offer summer art camps for ages 7-12. Camps will be held Monday through Friday, 9am to 3pm at the Arts Council at 9 N. Centre St. in Cumberland. Lead teacher Marne Troutman and Roy Devore will guide children in a variety of art instruction.
Session 2: July 17-21— Printmaking! Make your mark in this week long camp. Students will utilize a variety of image transfer techniques and learn how to print with and on just about anything. Processes such as relief prints, rubbings, collagraphs, stencils and mono printing will be explored.
About the instructors: Marne Troutman received her Master of Education and her Bachelor of Science in Art Education from Frost- burg State University. She has worked as a graphic designer and art instructor and has taught at the college, high school and elementary levels. Her focuses are sculpture and printmaking. One of her favorite quotes is “Some people only dream of meeting their favorite artists. I teach mine”. Roy Devore is a 2009 graduate of Frostburg State University’s BFA program with a dual focus in Illustration and Painting and a minor in Art History. Roy then graduated from FSU’s MAT program for Art Education the following year. Roy has been teaching for eight years now, and has worked as a freelance illustrator, painter, and graphic designer. He has taught at many different levels as well. Currently an elementary art teacher and college professor, Roy has taught at a number of elementary schools in Allegany County.
Registration Cost is $145 per session for Arts Council members / $160 for non-members with a 15% discount for siblings. A $50 non-refundable deposit is required at registration.
