Allegany National Photography Competition and Exhibition

“The Allegany National Photography Competition and Exhibition”- This 2nd Annual event will meld the region’s rich concentration of photographic artists with an influx of national photographers in a juried competition for over $5000 in cash prizes. The juror will be Stephen Perloff, founder and editor of The Photo Review. The opening reception will be held on Saturday, April 9th from 6-8 pm. Prizes will be awarded at a special event immediately following the reception.
The exhibition will remain at the Saville and Schwab galleries through April 30th, so if you are unable to attend the opening, please stop by and see the photos!

Fri., April 8 “Let a Thousand Flowers Bloom: Contemporary Photography and the End of Isms” talk by Stephen Perloff, founder and editor of “The Photo Review.” 7:30 pm at the Allegany Museum
Sat., April 9 “Cameras: Then and Now” opening at the Allegany Museum. 5pm-7pm
Sat., April 9 Opening reception for the Allegany National Photography Competition & Exhibition. 6-8pm, Saville Gallery. Awards ceremony will be held at 7pm, 2nd floor above the Gallery.
Sat., April 23 Gallery talk with photography Prof. Robert Hein of Frostburg State University. 2-4pm at the Arts Council.
